I have a Civil Engineering contractor looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their expanding team!

About the company

The contractor that I am recruiting for is a Tier 2 Civil Engineering contractor turning over £70M per annum. They are a multi-disciplined contractor who deals with highways, civil engineering, and infrastructure. They have a 6-year framework as the principal contractor with Highways England worth £110M. The projects on average will range in value from £100k – to £15M. As well as Highways England, they also work with clients such as Persimmon Homes, David Wilson Homes, Morgan Sindall Plc & Milestone Infrastructure. The types of works involve bridge refurbishments, drainage, S278 works, major earthworks, flood management, and reinforced concrete.

About the role

My client is looking to expand its health & safety department & bring in a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the company’s health and safety policies and putting them into practice, preparing their risk assessments, and going on-site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on-site are following company procedures and legal procedures. The successful candidate needs to have a good understanding of CDM and regulations as well as put together quality plans. You will be working on a variety of Civil Engineering projects, such as highways and bridge infrastructure, major earthworks, S278 works, and drainage.

Benefits and rewards

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined on experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company (bonus scheme, pension, health care, laptop, phone, etc.).


Ideally, I am looking for someone who has worked for a Tier 2 contractor within Civil Engineering & Infrastructure. I am also open to someone who has worked on large civil engineering/infrastructure projects. You will need to have good stability throughout your career and have a NEBOSH, a NEBOSH in construction would however be preferred.
