About the company

My client is a specialist sub-contractor who is part of a group turning over £100M + a year. The group is multi-disciplined and covers sectors such as surfacing, reinstatement works, water & gas. They have become a trusted contractor in the South East working on contracts such as Thames Water, cadent gas & Southern Gas Networks. They also sub-contract for large contractors such as Skanska, Morrison Utility Services & many others.

About the role

This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is looking for a role that can offer reasonability, stability, and the opportunity to have a real say in the health and safety team. Within this role, you will be reporting to the SHEQ Director and looking after a small team of two health & Safety Advisors. The role will involve data analysis, dealing with clients daily and a couple of site visits a month. It’s also important you make a positive impact on the Advisors and help get the best out of them.

The projects you will be involved in will be gas projects. This includes gas mains installation and replacement, repair and maintenance, gas fitting and specialist drilling plus full reinstatement. The successful Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day health and safety duties which will include implementing the companies’ health and safety policies, preparing method statements,

Benefits and rewards

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £45,000 to £55,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. On top of this, you will have the opportunity to be treated as a name, not a number, and bring real value to the Health & Safety department.

Requirements

To be considered for this position it is desired you have experience in utilities (within the UK) and understand street works projects. A stable CV is important, ideally 3/4 years in each position, at least.

On top of a strong Utility background, A NEBOSH general certificate is vital as is a UK driving license to help you go from one site to another if you’re required.
