About the company

My Client are an Irish family run company based in North West London turning over £100M. they specialise within RC Frames, Groundworks, rail infrastructure and they also main contract on new build projects. My client really prides themselves off the long-term stability of their staff due to the average employer working for them for over 15 years. This is because of the great atmosphere within the company and the really good family feel they have within the business. My client has been established for over 35 years and they keep growing and expanding year upon year, this is due to the great reputation they have in the market which has led to them getting continuous repeat business with clients such as Skanska, Mace and Hochtief.

About the role

Due to the company’s ongoing expansion and very healthy pipeline regarding work they are now in a position where they can bring another member on board to join the health and safety team as an advisor. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the companies own health and safety policies and putting them into practice, preparing their own risk assessments and going on site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on site are following company procedures and legal procedures.

The projects that you will be involved in are all going to be within the rail industry working with clients such as Mace and Skanska. You will be involved in all Civil Engineering related tasks such as working on platform extensions, slab replacements, tunneling works and station upgrades. Experience working on rail infrastructure is vital for this role.

To be successful in this role you will have to show certain skills, characteristics and follow certain duties such as: Make sure that all members of staff are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and to provide advice when it’s needed.  You will be in charge of carrying out accident/incident investigations in accordance with the company procedure and analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any re occurrences.

Benefits and rewards

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anything from £40,000 to £50,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company.

Requirements

To be considered for any of these positions you will be required to have had experience working in rail infrastructure for tier 1 or tier 2 companies within the UK with strong stability. It’s important to have worked for each of your previous companies for at least 3 years per company.

The successful candidate will need experience working on groundworks, concrete works, deep drainage, earthworks all within a rail environment.

A NEBOSH general certificate is vital as is a UK driving license to help you go from one site to another if you’re required.
