About the company

My client is a multi-disciplined, cash-rich, well-known contractor who is currently turning over £80M per annum. They specialise primarily within the water (wastewater and clean water) and infrastructure areas of civil engineering, with offices in London, Kent & Sussex, this position will be covering London.

This position has come about due to continued and strategic ongoing growth but while the business is looking to expand, they are also keen to maintain their family feel atmosphere, where it’s a fun working environment and everyone, is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the directors across the company. On a side note, I have personally placed several professionals with this contractor ranging from senior management to low-level individuals and everyone has only ever spoken positively.

About the role

Due to the company’s ongoing expansion and very healthy pipeline regarding work they are now in a position where they can bring another member on board to join the health and safety team as an advisor. The successful candidate will be in charge of using the companies own health and safety policies and putting them into practice, preparing their risk assessments, and going on-site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on-site are following company procedures and legal procedures.

The projects you will be involved in will be water-based projects, these projects will range from clean water infrastructure, wastewater infrastructure, developer services, civil engineering & major capital delivery works.

To be successful in this role you will have to show certain skills, characteristics and follow certain duties such as: Make sure that all members of staff are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and to provide advice when it’s needed. You will be in charge of carrying out accident/incident investigations following the company procedure and analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn within the region of £40,000 however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company. My client will also put people through several different tickets and qualifications to help benefit their knowledge and their career.


To be considered for this position I am looking for someone who has at least 2 years of experience working in Civil Engineering (ideally utilities). You will need to have a NEBOSH (General or Construction Certificate)

A NEBOSH general certificate is vital as is a UK driving license to help you go from one site to another if you’re required.
