About the role

Working with the senior quantity surveyor you will be responsible for supporting the management of individual projects from the pre-construction stage all the way through to delivery. This role will give you great exposure to plenty of different tasks within this sector. You will be involved in client meetings, preparing tender documents, including bills of quantities, responding to tender enquiries and preparing monthly valuations among other tasks. The graduate programme that our client has to offer could see you progress throughout the company in the future.

About the company

This privately-owned client who is based just outside of the M25 is a leading name within the construction industry. Their current annual turnover is in excess of £300M and with plans in place for growth over the next 5-10 years, this business is in an exciting position moving forward.

With a strong hold in the residential sector, the RC structures division has since expanded into the commercial and educational sector, work is primarily in the South East of England, with over three-quarters of their works now in the Greater London area. A dedicated in-house design and project management team, this client is able to provide clients with value engineering concepts as well as structural alterations and refurbishment works.

As a company they undertake a variety of works including groundwork’s, reinforced concrete frames and infrastructure works. Projects are undertaken throughout London for clients such as Taylor Wimpey, Galliford Try and Ballymore, they have forged a strong reputation which has been built on a proven ability to deliver projects from £500k to over £30 million in value, completing them on plan, within budget and to the high level of quality.

About the requirements

A degree in quantity surveying or equivalent is essential for this position. A willingness to learn on the job and an ability to adapt will also be necessary for this fast-paced working environment. For candidates to be considered for this role, a good technical awareness is needed and is suitable for a motivated and dedicated individual who works well as part of a team and is able to adapt to this fast-paced environment.

About the benefits and rewards

The basic salary for this role will be dependent upon exposure to the industry including work placements during studies. The package offered will be within current market rates with a basic salary between £20,000 – £30,000 + various benefits. In addition to this, successful candidates will be provided with training and experience in this busy specialist sector. Successful candidates can also look forward to a chartership as part of the company training and development.
