About the company

My client is a tier 2 main contractor who work predominantly in London specialising in the rail industry. They are a multi-disciplined contractor with works ranging from track renewal and maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance, platform extensions, facility management and Civil Engineering services within a rail environment.

The company are currently turning over £70M with a target turnover of £85m by the end of 2020. 2019 is looking like it could be a very successful year for my client with £60M worth of work already in the pipeline with projects ranging from £10M to £22M. The company ethos is extremely friendly and very teamwork orientated, they have plenty of social events and they work very closely with each other with continued support from the Project Manager and Operations Director.

About the opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who has a year’s experience within Civil Engineering or rail to join a forward-thinking contractor who invest a lot of time in their team. This opportunity is a hands on yet rewarding opportunity to start off your career in Project Management. You will be working underneath a Project Manager but you will also have a good one to one relationship with the Operations Director.

The types of works you will be getting involved in will range from track renewals, platform extensions, station upgrades and Civil Engineering projects. The role itself will involve managing rail projects, planning, methodology, monitoring and reporting. My client has had several success stories with regards to people progressing through the ranks to management level and it’s something they take very seriously.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education. Either a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have experience working as a trainee Project Manager within Civil Engineering or Rail and have at least 1 years’ experience.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
