Our client is a privately-owned property hotel and development company with significant assets and liquidity. This unique company currently have a number of 4* and 5* new build hotels that are nearing completion, as well as plans for numerous refurbishments of existing hotels and new build projects to come. Most of our client’s hotels are situated in major airports around the UK and also have plenty in London.

This independent company work both as a Developer and a Main Contractor, buying land and building the hotels themselves. With assets in the region of £2bn and further land acquisition underway all the time, the project portfolio for this group is substantial and ever growing. This property business has expanded massively since being established in 1999 and now boasts being one of largest in the UK.

About the opportunity:

A General Manager is required for one of this company’s flagship hotels. This individual will be responsible for the control and monitoring of all hotel operations through the team of managers and supervisors. We are looking for a professional who will be decisive and quick to respond with good judgement, whilst being able to meet deadlines and juggle many tasks at the same time.

As General Manager, you will also be required to educate, train and motivate hotel staff while ensuring they have the information, market data, tools and equipment to successfully carry out job duties. Some of your responsibilities will include direct day-to-day activities, planning and assigning work, establishing performance and development goals for team members, provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance and recognise good performance.In addition to this, promoting teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with key department heads is crucial and you will be required to manage all property health & safety requirements as dictated by statutory regulation and group policy.

This opportunity requires the successful professional to ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with owners’ policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.

About the benefits & rewards:

The salary will be dependent on your level and experience within the industry. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary between £75,000-£90,000 plus a generous company bonus scheme.

About the requirements:

This company are looking for an individual who is proactive with excellent leadership and communication skills, also with a strong knowledge of operational departments. A strong background with a strategic vision, planning and understanding of the competitive environment is required with a minimum of three years in a similar position within management in a hotel environment.

Experience of managing hotels with 300+ rooms is also required.
