Established over 100 years ago, this Consultancy is experienced in providing Commercial and Contract Management across most sectors in the industry, including Retail, Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Industrial, Education and Healthcare.

The company’s Birmingham office is particularly busy with providing fast paced Quantity Surveying services to their Retail clients in the West Midlands area and are thus expanding their Cost Managing and Quantity Surveying team to accommodate demanding requirements.

 

About the opportunity:

Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Birmingham team and advise on contracts, warranties, professional appointments and all other legal aspects of their new build and fit-out projects in the Retail sector.

As Quantity Surveyor, the ideal professional will be responsible for cost estimating, managing the tender process, valuations, regular reporting to key Clients and facilitating cost control from inception through to completion, including pre-construction and post-construction phases.

About the requirements:

Our client is seeking to appoint a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor who is Chartered MRICS or working towards Chartership, with sound cost management experience, as well as knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating, cost planning techniques, construction methods and materials. You will be able to demonstrate working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering. Knowledge of contract strategies is essential, as is recent experience of post-contract cost management tasks.

The professional will have clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written, with Financial, numeracy management and ICT skills.
