About the Company:

Our client is a well-respected contractor who has been established in their current form since the 1970’s, with their heritage and inception traced back over 100 years. They have a multi-disciplined approach and have divisions covering commercial, education, community, healthcare, sports and leisure, heritage, residential and the social housing sectors. They currently have various projects on going and some major projects in the planning stage. They have just won a large mixed use residential development comprising of over 200 apartments, penthouses and commercial units in East London, providing the opportunity for a surveyor to join their commercial team.

About the Vacancy:

The Company currently require an Estimator to add to the current commercial team. Their projects range from £1m-£10m and the individual must be able to communicate well with both commercial team and clients and have a professional but non adversarial approach with the emphasis of working together. The current portfolio comprises a mixture of private and public sector new build and refurbishment contracts. This role will initially provide a lot of autonomy and will require the candidate to assist in preparing tender packages and to engage with the commercial team in all aspects of Estimating.

Guidance and training will be provided on an ongoing basis to ensure the right candidate develops their career. You will also carry out analytical pricing of in-house produced Bills of Quantities and  to work closely with Design & Build Manager in the development of bids where required.

Requirements:

Experience of working on a combination of new build, fit-out and refurbishment projects is preferred. Candidates will have experience in Estimating role for a main contractor
