About the company:

My client is a self-delivering rail contractor currently turning over £90M per annum. They are multi-disciplined within rail, welding as well as having training company. The types of rail works they focus on include major projects which range in value between £500,000 – £10M and these projects involve lots of concrete, steel, groundworks (platform extensions), and building new depots.  They also do track upgrades and renewals. 50-60% of their works is with TFL, and they also work with London Underground as well as Network rail (network rail projects are mainly track and rerailing). They have several 5-year frameworks which gives them a guaranteed £25M/£30M turnover per year, these frameworks involve maintenance of station, pest control, vegetation, track maintenance. They have around 200 tenders a year to work and target a 25%-win percentage.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Estimator, who has been with the company for 8 years and is a very friendly and extremely approachable individual. You will have the chance to progress into a Senior Estimator over time and start to build your own team as you grow within the company. My client is looking for someone who is motivated, hungry and has initiative. They are open to a Site Agent or Senior Engineer who’s looking to get into Estimating. Whilst having an office in North London, they also have offices in Yorkshire, the Midlands and South Wales.

Requirements:

It is essential that you have a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering and at least 2 years working for a UK based Civil Engineering contractor. Graduates are welcomed should you have a motivated attitude to gain the knowledge and experience this company will provide.
