About the company:

Our privately owned client is a specialist subcontractor operating in London and throughout the South East, who works with a variety of residential, commercial, retail, healthcare and industrial businesses. Over the years, they have developed into a multi-functional group which successfully cover a number of sectors however the core functions of their business includes demolition, diamond drilling, façade retention, bulk excavation, temporary support and propping and asbestos removal.

All of their operational and surveying team operate out of their office in Surrey, which offers a complete cooperation across all departments, creating a stream line process and team approach.

At present, our client is working on several live projects, with further workload secured in the pipeline. With a high staff retention rate due to personal develop (internal promotions), strong, structured teams and a great reputation within the market, this specialist subcontractor rarely recruits and therefore this opportunity has arisen purely due to company expansion and a healthy pipeline of work.

About the opportunity:

Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of work, my client is currently recruiting permanently for a knowledgeable Estimator who holds vast experience in demolition. As an Estimator, you will report directly to the Estimating Director and will be responsible for putting together tenders, project costings and valuations for demolition packages throughout London and the surrounding Home Counties.

Duties for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Preparation of Tender Submission
  • Producing Bills-Of-Quantities and schedules for estimating programs/tender projects
  • Attending project visits
  • Measuring and Take-Offs from drawings
  • Cost Planning
  • Attending pre and post contract meetings with clients
  • Build-up of Tender Price from first principles based on plans, programme and scope of works

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, it is imperative that professionals have proven success of working with either a civil engineering or specialist demolition contractor in the UK in addition to holding a minimum of 5 years’ experience in this or a similar role. Furthermore, it is vital that the successful professional is able to use Asta in order to write programmes.

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent position, we are targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £50,000 to £70,000 per annum, however, specific salary will depend on experience and suitability.
