About the company

My client is a tier one main contractor who work worldwide, they are a leading name within infrastructure, utilities and rail turning over £1B. The company are 5 years into their 10-year growth plan, they are looking to turnover £2B by 2025, it’s very exciting times for the company. They specialise within rail, water, gas, power, highways and construction. Due to their high profile and high standard of work they are working on contracts such as HS2, CP6 and Thames Water (AMP7).

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Engineering Manager, working on water and Civil Engineering projects. As an Engineering Manager, you will be overseeing a team of engineers from design stage right the way through to completion of projects. The types of works you will be working on will be water infrastructure on Thames Water AMP7.

Some of the key duties include:

  • Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the HSQE department.
  • Take a personal interest in identifying, coaching and developing key staff.
  • Provide operational, strategic and contractual advice and service to bid preparation and project management when associated with design management and engineering.
  • You will also be in charge of managing a design consultant.

About the Requirements:

To be considered for this role, individuals must have a strong background within the water industry, especially infrastructure and this must have been gained whilst working for a contractor in the UK. I will need somebody who is degree qualified in Civil Engineering, candidates must be able to demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career. Furthermore, individuals must have strong management skills, knowledge of relevant utilities / health and safety policies and procedures and it is imperative.

On top of this it’s essential you have experience managing design consultants.
