Our client works with developers, investors, contractors, product manufacturers and specialist consultants across a range of residential, regeneration, education and commercial projects, to provide a complete construction service.

About the opportunity:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Development Director with a solid construction background and strong IT skills for a range of residential projects in the Birmingham area. The successful individual will be responsible for leading the overall project team and co-ordination of individual projects such as handover from the Land Department to completion, ensuring that at all times the overall financial viability of the development is maintained.

The current projects vary in the stages that they are at and the size of the project with the smallest project being £6M in value with 10 storeys and the largest being £80M in build costs and 18 storeys in height. The successful Director will be managing a small team that is growing and will have a good understanding of modern methods of construction. The organisation is growing aggressively and for the right individual, there is an incredible amount of prospect on offer in the way of both future work and projects but also professional development.

About the benefits and rewards:

The salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £85,000 – £100,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.

About the requirements:

The successful professional must have extensive industry experience, directly relating to residential projects, and must be commercially focused. Experience of managing contracts and design teams from pre-construction through to completion is essential with some on site experience being a bonus. A project/construction management qualification would be valuable although not essential.
