About the company

My client is a tier one main contractor who work worldwide, they are a leading name within infrastructure, utilities and rail turning over £1B. The company are 5 years into their 10-year growth plan, they are looking to turnover £2B by 2025, it’s very exciting times for the company. They specialise within rail, water, gas, power, highways and construction. Due to their high profile and high standard of work they are working on contracts such as HS2, CP6, United Utilities and Thames Water (AMP7).

About the role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Design Manager, working on water and Civil Engineering projects. As a Design Manager you will lead on contract and tender designs, including liaison with approved design consultants to deliver water infrastructure projects on the United Utilities AMP7 capital delivery framework.

Some of the key duties include:

·The selection, appointment and management of Design consultants

·The review of all Designs to ensure coordination with other disciplines and compliance with relevant standards, procedures and contract requirements.

·The provision/management of design support of the construction and commissioning teams

  • You will be in a very senior role working with a team with lots of experience within the water industry. On top of that, you will be rewarded with a very competitive salary of £55,000 – £70,000 + 10% company bonus, 27 days annual leave and £7000 car allowance.

About the Requirements:

To be considered for this role, individuals must have a strong background within the water industry, especially infrastructure and this must have been gained whilst working for a contractor in the UK. I will need somebody who is degree qualified in Civil Engineering, candidates must be able to demonstrate stability of employment throughout their career. You will also need to have worked as a Design Manager within the water & infrastructure industry. Furthermore, individuals must have strong management skills, knowledge of relevant utilities / health and safety policies and procedures.
