Remote working / Site based with 1 day in office – Moorgate (Office) / Southeast (Projects)

About the role:

My client is currently looking for a Design Manager with experience of leading the design on large building projects to join their team working across a variety of industrial projects spanning the southeast of England. The candidate will manage the design process in order to develop a design compliant with all contract requirements and in the most cost effective way. All information will be fully coordinated in order to deliver the project on time, within budget and to meet the client requirements.

The current delivery team require Design Manager with a strong history of working for well-established main contractors on multi-million-pound projects from pre-construction through the delivery phase. The ideal candidate will have worked on projects which relate directly to this one. My client is keen to find someone with strong technical knowledge and will offer the opportunity to progress within the business.

For this position, the successful individual will only be expected to attend the office once a week and will fill the rest of their time either on site or working remotely / from home. The site locations span from Hertfordshire down to Hampshire, so please be prepared to travel (with fuel paid for) when required.

About the benefits/rewards:

The salary will be dependent on the individuals’ level of experience and is not set in stone. The company offers excellent opportunities and offer a basic salary of between £60,000 – £65,000 depending on the individuals’ level – plus a generous benefits package. About the requirements:

Experience of working as a Design Manager within a main contractor is essential, with industrial project experience a bonus but not a necessity. The perfect candidate will be degree qualified and must be trustworthy, reliable and conscientious and keen to progress their career further. You will also have to be a highly motivated individual and a strong team player. A consistent employment record is essential along with a desire to bed into the business and progress up the ranks.
