My client is looking for a Contracts Manager, to deliver build and refurbishment contracts for public and private sector clients. The office is based just outside of the m25 in Buckinghamshire, an ideal location for candidates looking for an office base outside of London.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to oversee build and refurbishments contracts within London and Buckinghamshire region. You will have the autonomy to oversee and manage the project teams across two to four contracts ranging from £1 to £5m in value. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Manage project staff & site teams
  • Monitor site progress and communicate programme
  • Intervene and agree on action plans to recover delays where possible.
  • Ensure timely request for and delivery of all information that is on the programme.
  • Identify variations to the contract that will impact the programme and ensure programme is revised to accommodate them.
  • Compile such reports as are required to demonstrate progress against programme and    budget.
  • Compile procurement schedules and liaise with Senior Buyer re site supply and specialist requirements, specifying deadlines.
  • Ensure enquiries and/or tender packages are sent to sub-contractors and suppliers so that orders can be placed in time to meet programme.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
  • Work as part of the pre-construction team through the pre-tender & tender process

About The Client:

Our client is a main building contractor who undertakes new build, refurbishment and design and build contracts priding itself on its client focus. They have an excellent reputation, in part, through the innovative hands-on approach of the company’s directors. They undertake work for a wide range of private, public sector and commercial clients. Recent projects include a residential extension and basement in North London (£2.5m), 3 x new build townhouses in Hertfordshire, 20 residential units in Greenwich (£2.5m) and multiple school refurbishments throughout South East London.

Salary will be in the region of £60,000 – £70,000

About the Requirements

Suitable candidates will have a background in Site Management and be able to manage build and refurbishment contracts between £1-5m. SMSTS, First Aid & CSCS required.
