About the opportunity

Due to my client continuing to grow, they are now looking for a Commercial Manager to join their very experienced commercial team. The contract you will be working on is valued at £1B. It’s 3 years into a 5-year contract and has the opportunity to increase the contract for another 10 years. It is, therefore, guaranteed long-term work and provides stability for the right professional. Personally, you will be responsible for looking after £100M+ worth of work per annum with the contract including high-volume, low-cost work within the water industry covering all of London and work such as repair and maintenance projects and developer services projects. You will be involved with looking after a team of senior quantity surveyors, quantity surveyors and assistant quantity surveyors.

You will be working underneath some brilliant people. The Director of the Contract you will be working with, has a brilliant reputation and ishas one of the best names within the water industry. He has 20 years’ experience working within the water industry,15 years’  of which are as a Director for some of the best names within the water industry.  He’s very approachable, very easy to speak to, very witty and very knowledgeable. They make it a very enjoyable place to work.

 

About the company

My client is the biggest utility contractor within the UK turning over £850M, specialising in gas, water, electric, fibre and power. They are a tier one main contractor but they also subcontract utility packages on large contracts. The opportunities to grow within the company are huge, they are always expanding and like to promote within and reward their staff. You will be working in their new offices in North London, which are very high-end and polished and are a great environment to work in. The reputation of my client is brilliant, they are known for completing work on time and to a great standard. Because of this, they have landed some big contracts with HS2, Thames Water, Anglian Water, UKPN and Southern Water.

 

About the benefits and rewards

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a very competitive salary ranging from £65,000 – £75,000. On top of this, you will be given a company bonus and a company car/competitive car allowance. You will also be part of a fun and energetic working environment, where all are motivated to do well.

 

About the requirements

You are required to have a good standard of education with preferably a BSc in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management. To be considered for this position you should also be accredited. As well as being well educated, it’s vital you have good stability on your CV working for either a tier one or tier two contractor within utilities, working on high-volume, low-cost work.

The role is a permanent position and no freelancers can be considered.

A UK driving license is also mandatory for this role.
