About the company:

Based in the West Midlands, our privately owned, award winning client who has been established for over 15 years is a primary name in the design and implementation of ground/water remediation solutions for land regeneration. Due to their expertise, they have the ability to act as a principle contractor and as a subcontractor, working for various blue chip companies and major housing developers to perform remediation services on their behalf.

Having worked closely with this contractor for over 5 years, I’d consider them an outstanding company to work for as they have a close management team that works well together and they have always proven to be a company that looks after their staff, looking for ways to keep their employees happy and constantly striving to maintain an above average staff retention rate.

About the opportunity:

Due to ongoing company expansion, I am currently recruiting permanently for a Commercial Manager who will be responsible got carrying out all duties in relation to cost management including preparing sub-contracts; vetting and agreeing client contracts; undertaking valuations in accordance with the contract; agreeing / processing relevant subcontractor payments and ensuring consistent delivery of forecast margins to name just a few duties.

Additionally, as a Commercial Manager you will be accountable for assisting your commercial team with preparing claim documents for variations, EoT’s and loss and expense and must hold experience in cost analysis, cost mitigation and cost forecasting.

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent opportunity, we are targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £55,000 to £65,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful contractor (pension, health care, laptop, phone etc.).

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must hold between 6-10 years’ experience of working as a Quantity Surveyor and this will have been gained whilst working for an earthworks / remediation contractor in the UK. Additionally, you will hold a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar and due to this being a permanent opportunity, you need be able to demonstrate stability in the work place, holding each previous appointment for a minimum of 3 years.
