About the Role:

Our client is require a well-established Commercial Manager to come on board and lead a large commercial project currently under way in the City Of London. The project itself is a £22m new build office which is about 18 months into the programme. Unfortunately the project did not have the best start and has since had a series of issues both commercially and operationally. Due to these issues, my clients is on the hunt for someone to come on board and take over the management of the commercial aspect of the project and salvage the job to the best of their ability, fighting fires and clawing back the margins wherever they can. The successful candidate will take over as a project focussed Commercial Manager, managing team of 4 up and coming QSs, and will hold full responsibility for all commercial aspects of the project. Along with smart client and sub-contractor management, the accurate management of the team is essential to this role, so strong people management skills along with having an eye for finding profit within tricky and poorly procured projects will be a winning combination.

This role will work as stepping stone into a divisional lead role. Following a solid performance on this project the successful individual will be fast tracked to the top this businesses new build division with a view to growing the division substantially over the coming 5 – 10 years.

The guideline basic salary is £98,000 – £122,000, however this will be dependent upon the specific skills and experience of each individual. Requirements:

My client is seeking a high calibre employee with the suitable professional qualifications, a strong and stable background within good quality main contractors, who will add value to the organisation. They will have been in a senior commercial position for a minimum 5 years and have a background in negotiated, design and build, £20m+ new build commercial projects, ideally with experience in managing tricky projects with a successful track record in delivering profit where there was little chance. They must have good people management skills to be capable of managing a team of 4 QSs, with excellent eye for finding profit.
