Primarily working in the commercial refurbishment sector of the market, our client also undertakes projects in the residential and local authority sectors, and has worked on projects with values of anywhere between £1,000,000 and £5,000,000. Covering projects in the South East/London region, our client is enjoying extended periods of sustainable growth and is looking to expand their team. About the role:

Our client is currently seeking an experienced Buyer. They are looking for a commercially aware professional with a solid, permanent working background and someone who has experience in their line of operation. The client hopes to find a suitable individual who can fit in with their team, someone who can take control of their position and operate efficiently and professionally, in order to further the client’s reputation of being a reliable and trustworthy main contractor. The responsibilities of this opportunity are consistent with what is expected of Construction Buyers across the industry. This includes procuring materials within budgets and in time with progress works on site, monthly budgetary reports on materials purchased, attending & reporting on procurement at site’s monthly report meetings, and on occasion, take off material quantities from drawings and produce schedules from which to procure.

About the requirements:

The successful professional will ideally hold at least 5 years of buying experience as well as a stable employment background, having only worked for a handful of previous employers. Knowledge of current pricing levels is also essential and the professional must have an eye for long-term employment in this role.
