About the Company:
My client is a well-known high-spec PLC housebuilder developing sustainable homes and communities across Surrey and the Home Counties. Despite the huge size of the overall group of companies my client manages to keep a smaller, welcoming, family feel within this specific regional office.


Day to Day Activities:

  • Prepare schedules to send out for tender to suppliers.
  • Analyse tenders and recommend to management the preferred suppliers.
  • Prepare budget costs documents and monitor through to completion of works.
  • Source local suppliers and negotiate beneficial terms to enable him to suggest to group buying alternative sources within the region.
  • Attend site meetings.
  • Liaise with site agents to cater for problems/shortfalls, theft of materials on site.
  • Liaise closely with Head Office to ensure national agreements are utilised and to compare rates of orders.
  • To check all invoices to ensure they are in accordance with delivery tickets/orders and ensure agreed procedure is adhered to for authorisation.
  • To prepare schedules accurately and in a format that is readable/understandable and usable by all necessary parties.
  • Use of COINS system for order placement and payment of suppliers.
  • To assist in surveying duties to include sub-contractor buying as and when directed by Line Manager.
  • To keep accurate records for site plant and equipment and recommendations on buy or hire.
  • Ensure Health & Safety equipment for all operatives is recorded and kept up to date in accordance with current legislation.
  • To obtain supplier details and drawings for approval by the Technical Manager and Construction Director

Knowledge & Specific Job Skills:

  • Sound construction background with practical knowledge
  • Communication both verbal and written
  • Computer literate – Word and Excel
  • Housing building experience
  • Good negotiator
  • Use of COINS accounting system.

About the Benefits and Reward:

My client are looking to pay up to around £60,000 plus a generous benefits package. The package includes a car allowance.
