Our client is a well-established SME main contractor with 20 years’ experience, operating throughout London and the Home Counties. In that time, they have forged a stable and strong reputation with their private and public sector clients which has led to successful tendering and repeat business.

The company offers service works in construction, maintenance and mechanical electrical services. They cover new build and refurbishment contracts, working on buildings varying from high-end residential, hospitals, theatres, and churches to sports and leisure facilities. Their projects are interesting and varied and typically range from £1-8 million. For example, they recently restored a vintage cinema and were heavily involved in the refurbishment of the Natural History Museum.

About the opportunity:

Due to continued expansion, our client require an enthusiastic and ambitious Business Development Manager or Sales Executive to join their business. This opportunity would suit a tenacious Business Development Manager or sales person looking to carve a career within the construction and maintenance sector.As part of this opportunity, you will be expected to establish new business opportunities with blue-chip clients by market research, prospecting, networking and attending industry events. You will be expected to pitch and present to new prospects, producing quotations and proposals. In addition, you will manage the development of existing business relationships by organising and attending meetings to ascertain upcoming projects. You will record and monitor sales activities and performance on CRM and report regularly to the Managing Director.

About the benefits and rewards:

The base package is circa £25,000-£45,000 which will be dependant on experience and suitability plus you will be able to benefit from healthcare and pension schemes.

About the requirements:

The ideal professional will have relevant experience in business development or have a sales background within the construction industry. You will be commercially minded with an analytical, solutions-driven approach. This opportunity would suit an individual who is self-motivated, driven and a relentless relationship builder. You will need to be personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a clean driving licence is essential.
