About the Company: My Client are the main contracting division of a large construction group who utilise all the company’s in-house resources and facilities to provide clients with a bespoke construction service. This company have gone back to the time when contractors carried out work themselves with a dedicated, reliable workforce and their own fleet of plant and equipment. Our work is carried out in-house for the following disciplines: piling, reinforced structure, pre-cast elements, facades and glazing, M and E, dry-lining, craneage and scaffolding. This gives us direct contact with specialist expertise all under one roof rather than through a remote supply chain of suppliers and sub-contractors who have their own agendas and interests to protect. About the Role: The Bid Writer is required to work closely with the pre-construction team to develop detailed responses for the Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) and Technical Proposals within Tenders. Duties will include writing customised text, sourcing appropriate images and graphics to support responses. Working on your own initiative you will conduct research, interview contributors and gather information from a wide range of sources to construct a solid, well-structured response to the bid submissions.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • To write and develop content for tender responses which are bespoke to the target
  • To deliver high standards of work through supporting others to complete tender questions
  • Produce quality submissions which improve our conversion ratio from submission to success
  • Ensure all documents are free from errors and professionally presented
  • Develop an effective library of information and liaise with other departments to keep this updated
  • Coach other team members in Bid Writing to improve our overall achievement
  • To prepare presentations in a number of formats
  • Ensure all stakeholders receive regular feedback and advance notice of upcoming activity
  • Targets and develops a network of influential internal and external contacts

 

About the benefits / rewards: The salary will be dependent on level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £40,000 – £55,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.

 

 

Requirements: The candidate MUST be able to write a variety of responses and documents, demonstrate good use of English and have the ability to convert draft notes into proposals. Must show the ability to work to strict deadlines using excellent communication, IT skills (In Design, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel) and presentation skills and should have a flexible working approach (due to nature of the work some overtime maybe required) A knowledge of the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
