Bid Writer

Highways Maintenance

Braintree, Essex

£35,000 – £45,000 + package (dependent on experience)

About the opportunity

Are you tired of working long hours and not being rewarded? Are you tired of being treated like a number and not a name? And are you tired of doing the same repetitive works all day and every day? If so, this opportunity is the one for you. My client is looking for a Bid Writer to support the Pre-Construction team, working closely with the Estimator and Bid Manager. You will be working mainly on highways maintenance projects (local authority) and some road and highways infrastructure projects. Your role will be responsible for writing / co-ordinating tenders and bids, updating case studies and project reviews, award submissions and assisting in the company’s marketing.

About the company

My client is a Tier 2 contractor turning over £50M (and growing) and specialising within highways. Company culture is important isn’t it? My client also agrees. They are a tight-knit team with an exceptionally low staff turnover, this is due to recognition of hard work and performance from the owners and a great working environment. Company values are also extremely important, they believe in respect, teamwork, excellence, and integrity as well as a few others. Over the past couple of years, they have appointed several well experienced and well-respected individuals within the sector to help them grow as a business but grow effectively and efficiently.

What is not to like about a privately owned, expanding contractor that look after their staff?

Requirements

This is an important opportunity for my client, so it does come with some strict requirements. They are looking for somebody who has worked for a rival highways’ maintenance contractor (UK based only) or Civil Engineering contractor. 3 years’ experience is essential and it is preferred you come from an engineering background (not essential though)

Benefits and rewards

Fair play if you are still reading this but we have finally got down to the fun and exciting topics. My client is open to salary, initially they will be looking to pay between £35,000 – £45,000 on top of this, you will be joining a contractor going through long term growth, you can be part of this!
