Bid Manager – Public Sector Works

  • £65,000
  • London

About the company:

My client was established in 2006 as an in-house main contractor specialising in the development of multi-unit RC Frame residential schemes in Central and Greater London. They have had a steady project pipeline provided to them by the development arm of the business that they are associated with as well as now being able to externally tender for their own work. Having recently moved to a brand new purpose built office, a project they completed back in 2017, they are now ready to take the next steps in running as a separate business unit under the company brand. To date they have completed works up to £25 million in excess of 150 units across South, West and East London.

About the opportunity:

I have been working very closely with my client for the last 2 years, building a team of personable, highly-motivated, and collaborative individuals that are all working together to aid the growth of the business. The company Owner and Managing Director have set out a new business plan to move into public sector works alongside their successful private development arm. With this, they have decided to create a brand new role within the business for a Bid Manager. Working closely with the Managing Director and administrative team, you be expected to bring a wealth of experience to the new pre-construction department, specialising in winning public sector contracts. My client is looking to deliver a variety of projects across this sector including new build housing association and local authority housing as well as projects within the education sector.

My client has a small business mentality, they are a lean team with everyone working hard across their specific discipline to achieve tight deadlines and profit margins. This is a superb opportunity for someone who wishes to take on large amounts of responsibility with the chance to quickly progress in company with no ‘glass ceiling’. You will be working for one of the supportive and personable Managing Directors I have come across who really takes pride in seeing his staff achieve.

About the benefits and rewards:

The company provides an ‘all-in’ package that will be circa £65,000. Business mileage and expenses can be claimed back as well as the chance to achieve a sizeable bonus upon completion of projects. Brand new bespoke office and yearly company trips to Europe.

About the requirements:

You must have at least 7 years of Bid Management experience with strong knowledge of putting together bids for public sector works. Some management/delegation experience would be preferable.
