Our privately owned client who has regional offices throughout the UK, is a multifaceted enabling works contractor who holds over 30 years proven experience in demolition, asbestos removal and general infrastructure. This contractor works on a range of projects, varying in scale and complexity, to include minor works of residential properties through to large scale nuclear schemes. Over the last several years, this client has grown to be one of the largest and most successful enabling works contractors in Europe.

About the opportunity:

Due to continued successful growth, our client is recruiting permanently for a Bid Manager with experience within the enabling works industry, to support the commercial team and work in conjunction with the Business Development Team on pre-qualification / selection questions and all invitation to tender submissions. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, as a Bid Manager, you will oversee a bid coordinator and will be responsible for managing several bids at once in a demanding and fast paced environment; proof reading and rewriting inbound tender information; creating visually attractive client presentations for pre/during/post tender period; maintaining and improving the bid response library, including reviewing post tender submission client feedback and managing the end-to-end bid process to name just a few duties.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, it is essential you hold a minimum of 3 years’ experience within bid writing or bid management which must have been gained whilst working within the construction industry in the UK. As a Bid Manager you must be able to write a variety of responses and documents, demonstrate good use of English and have the ability to convert draft notes into proposals. Due to the nature of the opportunity, you must be able to show the ability to work to strict deadlines within a pressurised environment, hold excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate bid requirements to multiple stakeholders, be fully proficient in Microsoft packages and adobe packages (InDesign in particular) and hold a full UK driving licence.

About the benefits / rewards:

For this exciting opportunity, the salary on offer has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however you can look to target anywhere from £40,000 – £50,000. Outside salary, working hours are 08:00am – 17:00, you will get 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, a company phone and laptop will be provided, you will be enrolled on to the company contribution pension scheme and employee ownership trust.
