My client is the biggest utility contractor within the UK turning over £850M, specialising in gas, water, electric, fibre and power. They are a tier one main contractor but they also sub contract utility packages on large contracts. The opportunities to grow within the company are huge, they are always expanding and they like to promote within and reward their staff. You will be working in their offices in North London, they are very high end and polished and it makes it a great environment to work in. The reputation of my client is brilliant, they are known for completing work on time and to a great standard, because of this they have landed some big contracts with HS2, Thames Water, Anglian Water, UKPN and Southern Water.

About the opportunity

Due to company growth, my client is now looking to strengthen and expand there already experienced commercial team, there is need for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the quantity surveyor, within the water sector of the company. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you will be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. The successful candidate will help assists with the preparation of the CVR’s and monitor sub contract payments.

The projects you will be involved in will be a verity of clean and dirty water projects for developer services. These works will involve large diameter mains and deep excavations.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, commercial management or quantity surveying or equivalent qualification.

1 or 2 years working for a utilities or Civil Engineering contractor is important for this position.

It’s also important to have experience and knowledge working on NEC contracts.

You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
