About the company:

My client is a specialist Water & Civil Engineering contractor turning over £20M per annum. They are, however, part of a larger group turning over £90M +. This collaboration ensures clients are receiving excellent service as they’re able to innovate on the latest technologies and methods in the industry.  They focus on design; engineering & construction and they have built up a brilliant reputation with Southeast Water. The work involves the civil and mechanical design, construction, refurbishment, and commissioning of water treatment works and pumping stations across Southeast Water’s supply area, serving parts of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and Berkshire. The contract they are working on will run until 2025 but they have an option to extend it until 2030, this gives all their team great, long-term stability.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Quantity Surveyor and working on water projects in Kent & Sussex. The projects will be MEICA projects ranging in value from £500,000 – £3M on average. Whilst attending multiple site visits weekly, you will need to take responsibility for cost estimations as well as managing expenses throughout the project. Despite working underneath a Quantity Surveyor, you will also have a close relationship with the Commercial Manager, someone who is very approachable and knowledgeable which will ensure you’re learning in the best way possible.

Requirements:

You will need to have a good standard of education, preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND, HNC, or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial Management, or Quantity Surveying. It is essential that you have 1-2 years’ experience working for a UK Civil Engineering contractor, ideally within water or utilities, as well as a UK driver’s license as you will be traveling to various sites throughout the week.
