Based just outside London, our client specialises in Groundwork and RC frame packages across the South East. This project is circa £9 million with future schemes ongoing. About the Opportunity:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a degree qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Manager in the successful commercial and financial management of projects. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of costs with an end goal of maximising the project profit margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. You will be involved from tender stage through to project completion and projects will cover a diverse range of works.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, carrying out comparison of tenders, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the requirements:

To be considered for this position, candidates will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar. Additionally, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working within the concrete frame & groundwork sector.

About the package / benefits:

For this permanent position, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend upon previous experience and suitability, however successful individuals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £25,000 – £40,000.
