My client is a multi-disciplined tier 2 contractor who specialise s in highways maintenance, highways infrastructure, traffic management, rail and the environmental sector. They get a lot of repeat business with main contractors such as Kier & Balfour Beatty. It is also helped by the close bond from the management team all the way down to the engineers. About the opportunity

Due to company growth, they are now looking to strengthen and expand there already experienced commercial team, there is need for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the quantity surveyor, within the Highways sector of the company. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the requirements

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND, HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction management or civil engineering.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering & Highways for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
