The Company

Our client is a main building contractor who undertakes new build, refurbishment and design and build contracts priding itself on its client focus. They have an excellent reputation, in part, through the innovative hands-on approach of the company’s directors. They undertake work for a wide range of private, public sector and commercial clients. Recent projects include a residential extension and basement in North London (£2.5m), 3 x new build townhouses in Hertfordshire, 20 residential units in Greenwich (£2.5m) and multiple school refurbishments throughout South East London.

About the Role:

Our client have released an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work as part of their new build team. You will work alongside other Quantity Surveyors and will provide assistance throughout the full life cycle of the build including the execution of commercial, financial and contractual matters to secure top-level financial and legally compliant performance.

  • Assisting in Sub-contract tendering and procurement
  • Payment of subcontractors, variation orders and assisting in the settlement of final accounts.
  • Monitoring and explaining cost movements.
  • Analyse returned tender and recommend the most commercially viable contractor.
  • Monitor subcontractor cost movements.
  • Undertake monthly cost reports
  • Report on savings and excesses against budget
  • Assist in the forecasting of final accounts.
  • Any other duties as required by the Commercial Director.

Requirements:

  • Experience in working as Quantity Surveyor for a Main Contractor or Sub Contractor
  • BSc degree or HNC in construction preferred
