Our client is looking for an Assistant Project Manager. This business has over 40 years’ experience in private and public sector undertaking fit out, refurbishment & maintenance contracts. Working on buildings varying from hospitals to sports centers, churches to prime residential refurbishment & build, their enviable track record is based on expertise, experience and responsive environment. Recent successful tendering and strong client relationships has led to a strong order book for 2021 leading into 2022 which has led the need to selectively recruit for key commercial and operational roles within the business.

About the Role

Our client is looking to recruit an Assistant Project Manager with experience in the refurbishment works. The contracts are with a variety of clients, including London property estates, blue chip corporates, restaurants and private clients. Works are usually in the high-end market, and can include internal and external refurbishment, redecoration, fit out, facade repair and small build works. Project values are tycpialy within the £100k to £2.5m. range

Beyond this you will be responsible for managing multiple projects across the city of London. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Assisting the Contracts Manager with ensuring financial control are met to produce successful and profitable projects
  • Assisting in vetting, appointing and managing sub-contractors
  • Assisting in preparing monthly interim project cost reports for the directors and clients
  • Client liaison and to build on an existing robust client base
  • To report to the directors on project progress, programme, quality and finance
  • Managing site teams to ensure compliance with both Health and Safety and Environmental legislation

About the Salary/ Benefits

Salary will be in the region of £40,000 – £50,000.

About Requirements

Suitable candidates will have a main contracting / Fit out refurbishment background and have the ability to manage traditional & design and build contracts to the value of £2m. A diverse project portfolio will be advantageous. BSc in Construction Management or similar preferred.
