About the company

The business has been trading for over 25 years, remains privately owned and is currently turning over around £120 million per annum specialising with in reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, basement construction and demolition. The have offices based in North West London and a regional presence in the Northern Home Counties and cover work in the city centre all the way up to Cambridge. Package values vary depending on works involved but their current largest scheme includes all of their specialist works and is estimated to value around £50 million on one project over the next two years.

Outside of the standard facts of this business, we have maintained a close working relationship with the MD (who is a loyal well-respected individual within this sector) and directors for over 10 years and have seen them double in size and capability in this time. They have a close nit team that all work well together from directorship level down to site and what really stands out about them is their ongoing focus to deliver complex projects with real technical capability, rather than just traditional residential frames. The MD and all the directors really take the time to get to know everyone in the company and continually look at ways to develop people to their maximum potential.

About the opportunity

This is an opportunity to play an integral role within the accounts team at this dynamic and progressive business. Some of the duties the successful professional will undertake are ensuring that an organisation meets the necessary tax, permit and licencing requirements, collaborating with an executive team in establishing more effective processes and controls to ensure the integrity of a company’s ledger, overseeing all financial control activities, including the review and analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and disclosures, providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategizing, summarising budget trends, analysing deficiencies and reporting variances to executives, providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support and taking care of tax preparation duties or liaising with external tax accountants for tax preparation. This is a business who are successful in delivering groundwork & concrete frame packages in a fast-paced environment and as such, the accounts team play a vital part in delivering to their clients with the quality and integrity they have established themselves on.

About the benefits and rewards

The base package is circa £50,000 – £65,000 per annum + additional benefits and the company’s main ambition is to bring an individual into the organisation with the ability to grow and become a valued member of the team.

About the requirements

The individual concerned will have at least 5 years’ experience working with a construction subcontractor or within an associated industry. Suitable professionals should have the following qualifications/skills: CIMA or ACCA accredited, hardworking and good attention to detail, the ability to work well under pressure and superb communication skills which will in-turn build a strong rapport within this close-knit team.
