About the Employer:

Our client is one of the largest and longest established companies in the Stone work and Heritage sector. They are specialists in the field of refurbishment, conservation and adaptation of traditional buildings and facades. They are also industry leaders in stone cladding systems and work on a wide variety of projects ranging from new build construction schemes to heritage sites working on grade 1 and 2 listed buildings. Their projects are mainly based in and around Central London including high profile projects such as Battersea Power Station, Tower of London and The Royal Albert Hall. Our client is continuously looking to build up the team and push for expansion. They have developed long standing relationships with a range of repeat business clients and are entrusted time and time again due to repeat project success.

About the Opportunity:

Due to continuous growth and successful tendering, Our Client is looking to expand their design Team by appointing an experienced Assistant Design Manager who has a minimum of 3 years design or site engineering experience. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Liaise with Senior Management, Design teams of architects, client reps, Engineers and Technicians, as well as face to face client representations
  • Liaise with architects to rectify issues before work commences and during construction
  • Be involved with specific design issues, propose appropriate and buildable solutions
  • Attend Pre-Construction and design development meetings
  • Liaise closely with site based project teams
  • Advise on costs for alternative strategies and methods of construction
  • Ensure the flow of work is maintained
  • Managed compliance checks against specification and requirements


Our client is open to looking at Assistant Design Managers who have experience in the field of refurbishment. You must have a minimum of 3 years design or site engineering experience and it is preferred if you have a degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Façade engineering experience is preferable and good organizational and administrative skills are essential.

Salary/ Benefits

Our client is offering a salary ranging from £35,000 to £55,000, Subject to skill and experience. The company offers a fantastic working environment and will provide the opportunity to progress your career through excellent guidance, support and training with yearly salary reviews. The company is also offering 33 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas shut down, travel allowance, fully expensed company phone and quarterly social events. The working hours are from 8.00am to 5.00pm and regular training will be sessions will be provided in-house.
