Assistant Buyer – Residential Developer (High Spec)

Salary Up To – £35,000 + Package

Location: Canterbury

Fast becoming one the most exciting and fast growing residential developers in the Kent region, my client have earned a reputation for excellence, developing an enviable portfolio of prestigious residences based on their core principles of quality, innovation and creativity. With a variety of experienced Directors leading the business coupled with a recent injection of investment my client are set to become one of the most reputable companies to work for in the area. They are set to complete around 300 units this year with land secured in some of the county’s most affluent areas.

About the Role:

·Assist with the preparation of schedules

·Help ensure purchase information and purchase orders packs are produced and delivered to the site teams in a timely fashion to meet current programs.

·Assist with site queries and invoice queries.

·Attend site meetings where required and generally assist with the smooth running of the site relating to material procurement.

·Help increase material supply network and identify product innovations, potential cost savings and improvements in site services.

·Under the guidance of the Chief Buyer you will run a schedule of material testing regimes for key products in line with ISO Procedures and help ensure Site operatives/Managers are made aware of best practice for handling/storing and COSHH.

·Attend Buying forums to help build knowledge

·Involvement in group material specification.

Candidate Requirements:

·An awareness of the legal implications of buying

·Understanding of health and safety issues relating to material procurement

·Experience of working in the house building industry is desirable

·Some technical and building processes knowledge

·Excellent communication skills

·Strong negotiation skills

·High level of proficiency in various computer packages including MS Office Products – Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel

·Self-motivated and pro-active with the ability to act on own initiative

·Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to effectively manage time to meet deadlines

·Effective at building relationships

·Proficient at managing people

About the Benefits and Reward:

·Basic salary of up to £30,000 (depending on experience)
