About the role:

We currently have a vacancy for a recruitment consultant based out of our office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of creating and establishing a new desk recruiting for the Piling, Marine and Dredging sectors. Additionally, you will be given the opportunity to hit the ground running by simultaneously resourcing for one Cityscape Recruitment’s most Senior Consultants who heads up the reputable Demolition and Remediation desk. This set up not only offers you the opportunity to create your own area of the business but provides the potential of earning commission immediately due to the live vacancies and established client and candidate relationships within the Demolition and Remediation Desk.

This desk will complement our thriving Civil Engineering team, which collectively earns more than £600k per year. You will be working alongside one of the founding Directors who has over 10 years’ recruitment experience in the Civil Engineering sector. The team place candidates in both main contract and sub-contract areas of civil engineering with the sectors covered including, but not limited to, infrastructure and highways, utilities and power, rail and underground, reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, demolition, remediation and piling.

The dedicated recruiter will be given a good balance between support and autonomy to manage their desk. And in doing so, they will manage the process, develop and manage client and candidate relationships, source candidates for roles, liaise with other consultants in the business and process new preferred supplier list (PSL) applications as required.

About the benefits and rewards:

Remuneration will be extremely generous. We base salaries on the experience and abilities of each professional but offer beyond the typical level in the industry. You can expect a basic salary from £20,000 to £35,000 and on target earnings of a minimum £40,000 to £65,000 in the first year. In addition to basic salary and commission with no threshold, we offer generous quarterly bonuses, quarterly target based office events, regular team social events, on-going perks through Perkbox and smaller benefits such as a drinks fridge on Fridays.


About the requirements:

Success applicants will ideally have prior experience of construction recruitment and will be capable of business generation and client delivery leading to fees. However we are willing to consider and meet with applicants who have proven recruitment experience that is not within the construction sector or applicants with limited exposure to the recruitment sector, for example those in a resourcer/trainee role who are looking for the next step.

Individuals who are qualified in construction or civil engineering and/or individuals who have previously worked on site in the piling, marine, demolition and remediation industry would also be highly welcomed. The market knowledge and understanding gained from this background offers a unique starting point for a potentially excellent career in construction recruitment.

Most importantly a successful Recruitment Consultant will be self-motivated, have a confident personality, be willing to work with a variety of people, be conscientious, show strong organisational skills and demonstrate a high level of intelligence.
