Cityscape Recruitment is hiring for Trainee Recruitment Consultants. We need highly motivated, driven and intelligent individuals to support planned growth and learn the Construction Recruitment trade.

With a very busy year ahead, Cityscape’s senior management are all looking to build in new Trainee Recruitment Consultants into their team, but rather than looking for people with a recruitment background, we want to bring in people with some sales or customer service experience, great people skills and never say die attitude, all of which are very hard to teach, so we can teach them how to recruit properly.

You will be tasked with learning the construction industry inside and out, getting to know companies & people up and down the country whilst learning what they do and how they do it. Your aim will be to find the best people in the industry the best jobs and find the best companies the best staff to support the construction boom that we will see this year and beyond.

You will receive full training and support in your own personal development, in exchange for hard graft and intelligent output. This permanent, salaried, and commission incentivised role can offer you an extreme upturn in earnings and change your personal situation within a matter of months if you apply yourself properly.

We need people with a tenacious working attitude who have the drive to work harder than the rest, have a great telephone manner and can hold their own whilst dealing with all people from graduates to Managing Directors. Sales experience with a history of dealing with high volume outbound sales calls is a huge benefit, with face-to-face sales another useful tool to have. About the role:

We currently have a vacancy for a recruitment consultant based out of our office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The successful applicant will take on the responsibility of a desk within the Civil Engineering team.

You will be joining our thriving Civil Engineering team, which collectively earns more than £400k per year, and will be working alongside one of the founding Directors who has over 10 years’ recruitment experience in this sector. The team place candidates in both main contract and sub-contract areas of civil engineering with the sectors covered including, but not limited to, infrastructure and highways, utilities and power, rail and underground, reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, demolition and remediation.

This opportunity will provide you with the platform to develop a section of the business and build on a strong, focused client list.

The dedicated recruiter will be given a good balance between support and autonomy to manage their desk. And in doing so, they will manage the process, develop and manage client and candidate relationships, source candidates for roles, liaise with other consultants in the business and process new preferred supplier list (PSL) applications as required.

As a growing company, your position within the business will naturally elevate to a role with more responsibility, gaining more experience over time.

 

About the benefits and rewards:

Remuneration will be extremely generous. We base salaries on the experience and abilities of each professional but offer beyond the typical level in the industry. You can expect a basic salary from £25,000 to £40,000 and on target earnings of a minimum £80,000 to £100,000 in the first year. In addition to basic salary and commission with no upper threshold, we offer generous quarterly bonuses, quarterly target based office events, regular team social events, on-going perks through Perkbox and a drinks fridge.

 

About the requirements:

Success applicants will ideally have prior experience of construction recruitment and will be capable of business generation and client delivery leading to fees. However, we are willing to consider and meet with applicants who have proven recruitment experience that is not within the construction sector or applicants with limited exposure to the recruitment sector, for example, those in a resourcer/trainee role who are looking for the next step.

We are also open to individuals who are degree qualified in construction or civil engineering or have previously worked in the industry. The market knowledge and understanding gained from this background offers a unique starting point for a potentially excellent career in construction recruitment.

Most importantly a successful Recruitment Consultant will be self-motivated, have a confident personality, be willing to work with a variety of people, be conscientious, show strong organisational skills and demonstrate a high level of intelligence.
