MCS Night of Conservation

Cityscape Recruitment employees were absolutely thrilled to be invited to the MCS Night of Conservation last night, 4th December 2019. A few team members attended the evening which was incredibly insightful and inspiring. With ladies who managed to row the Atlantic, solo and as a trio, achieving 3000 miles at sea which took an arduous 49 to 61 days. Hearing the stories of how mentally and physically challenging it was, all in the aim of raising money for the Marine Conservation Society. What these ladies and so many other people have done to raise vital funds are without a doubt, heroic.

We were honoured to also hear from their headline speaker, a Dragon from the BBC 2 show, Dragons Den, Deborah Meaden. Being able to hear how the ocean has captured her heart, the fire in her belly to want to be involved and help which led to Deborah becoming an MCS Ocean Ambassador, more importantly to hear how the Entrepreneur is noticing how much of a change that is happening within businesses that want to make a difference and make sure they are making a positive environmental impact.

With the MCS having the mission to lead political, cultural and social change for healthy seas and coasts that support abundant marine wildlife, sustainable livelihoods and enjoyment for all, being able to attend this night of conservation and hear all the inspiring stories just reiterates why the Marine Conservation is a charity that we will continue to support for the amazing work they do.

In October, a few team members embarked on a 14mile (not quite 3000 miles along the Atlantic but still challenging in itself) walk along the Jurassic Coast which there is still time to donate for, please click here to read more about it and donate to this very worthy cause.
