We held a Big Blue Day in support of the Marine Conservation Society!

To kick-off our commitment to raising money for the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), we held a Big Blue Day!

The MCS is the UK’s leading charity for the protection of our seas, shores and wildlife. Our seas are under immense pressure. Too many fish are being taken out, too much rubbish is being thrown in, and too little is being done to protect marine wildlife and fish stocks.

Our UK seas and coasts are amongst the most diverse and beautiful on the planet, playing host to dolphins, sharks, whales and turtles. Over half of the UK’s wildlife resides within our seas and many other species such as seabirds rely on them for their survival.

So to show our support, last Thursday we went completely blue. You may have seen our branding on our website and across our various online platforms go a lovely shade of cyan for 24 hours. Not only that, our office had a blue tinge to it for the day and our consultants took part in a number of ‘blue’ themed activities. These included:

  • Dress in blue for the day
  • A sustainable fish (and chip) lunch
  • Recruitment ‘Blue’ language phone bingo. Here we use the term ‘blue’ language to refer to all those quintessential recruitment lines our consultants use on a regular basis. Every time one of them used one of these lines, they put money in our lovely MCS collection pot!

In going blue for the day, we hoped to raise awareness of the valuable work the MCS does. Not only amongst the Cityscape Recruitment team but amongst our clients and candidates, too. We also aimed to raise money to help the MCS continue its work to protect our seas, shores and wildlife. And we are happy to say our Big Blue Day raised a total of £337.80!
