Helping to enhance careers

Ben joins Trades & Labour for a day

Over the last few weeks, we have had a few of our consultants join our Trades & Labour consultant, Antoni, on a day of site visits to support and align with one of our core values of being informed.

Our consultants regularly undertake site visits as it provides first-hand opportunities to learn more about the construction process as a whole, as well as the various specialist positions that they recruit for on a day-to-day basis. By working collaboratively, across the management level and trades and Labour divisions, helps gain insight into the blue-collar side of recruitment within construction.

We asked Ben about his experience and this is what he had to say.

“As Cityscape Recruitment has very much been centred on the recruitment of management professionals in previous years, exposure to the Trades & Labour sector of the market hasn’t been something that I’ve come across in my time at the company. Now that we’ve opened a Trades & Labour division, Antoni has been able to demonstrate his skills to me, showing me a new way of generating new opportunities for both temporary and permanent staff. I’ve realised that visiting clients on site is not only a great way of building upon existing relationships, it is also an effective method at creating new ones. Establishing and maintaining relationships with both construction professionals and clients is key to Cityscape Recruitment’s collaborative approach to enhancing careers.

After a successful day of site visits, Antoni & I came away with two new opportunities to recruit for, both of which wouldn’t have been accessible if it wasn’t for our proactivity of getting out on site in front of existing and new clients. We also managed to pin point details of new sites which may require permanent management staff in the future; areas of which our permanent consultants can look into”.

A great insight into recruitment for the Trades & Labour division and a great way to ensure the temporary and permanent divisions at Cityscape are working in collaboration, well done and thank you Ben & Antoni, we look forward to undertaking many more site visits in the future!
