This opportunity is an opportunity to work on a JV for two very well-respected Civil Engineering and Utility contractors. Both are well established in London/South East and both have high profiled utility contracts. The JV is well established also, both contractors have been in partnership since 2008 and continue to work well together and produce brilliant results. The types of works they specialise in involve clean water repairs and maintenance & sewerage repairs and maintenance contract across their entire sewerage network. They’re currently turning over £50M per annum.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a brilliant opportunity for somebody who is looking for a role that can offer responsibility, stability as well onsite exposure. Within this role, the successful candidate will be in charge of the whole health and safety department as well as getting involved with on-site duties. The successful candidate will be in charge of utilising the companies own health and safety policies and putting them into practice, preparing their risk assessments, and going on-site to make sure everything is safe and that the members of staff who are on-site are following company procedures and legal procedures.
The projects that you will be involved in are all going to be very fast pasted water projects for Southern Water. The role will be brilliant for someone who’s looking to learn, develop and gain great exposure within utilities.
To be successful in this role you will have to show certain skills, characteristics and follow certain duties such as: Make sure that all members of staff are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities and to provide advice when it’s needed. You will be in charge of carrying out accident/incident investigations following the Company procedure and, analysing all data, making recommendations to avoid any reoccurrences.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this position you will be required to have had experience working in Utilities (ideally water) for a UK-based tier 1 or tier 2 contractor. It’s important to have worked for each of your previous companies for at least 3 years per company.
On top of a strong Utility background, A NEBOSH general certificate is vital as is a UK driving license to help you go from one site to another if you’re required.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £65,000 to £85,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. There will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a large successful company.
