ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client is arguably the most impressive utility contractors in London & the South East. They have an industry-leading, data, and technology team, a brilliant tier-one, yet humble senior leadership team, and one of the strongest commercial teams in the utility industry. My client is a multi-disciplined, cash-rich, well-known contractor who is currently turning over £90M per annum with projections of turning over £100M in the next year. They specialise primarily within the water (wastewater and clean water) and infrastructure/non-infrastructure areas of civil engineering, with offices in North London, Kent, and on the south coast (this role will be based in their North London office). The company has some of the best staff in the industry working for them, they are very well respected across the utility industry and they’re financially very secure and in a stable position. While the business is looking to expand, they are also keen to maintain its family feel atmosphere, where it’s a fun working environment and everyone, is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the directors across the company. This is a contractor I enjoy recruiting for. Over the last 4 and a half years I have placed 3 of their senior managers and all of them are still there and enjoying it.
They are a relationship-based contractor and pride themselves on the quality of the work that they produce. This has led them to have repeat business with Thames Water, holding certain frameworks for over 30 years. On top of this, they have long-standing relationships with Affinity Water, Southern Water, and South East Water and have recently started working with Anglian Water.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to a large pipeline, long-term pipeline of work, my client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join the company. You will be working on water infrastructure projects in London and the South East of England. You will manage water related construction projects from site set up to hand over, safely delivering works, completion within programme, managing costs and delivering to the clients specification/requirements. The projects will involve will be a mixture of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects. This will be a hands-on, technically challenging position. Your role will involve technical and buildability review of Temporary Works Designs, monitoring the activities and performance of Project, producing and own contract programme as well as developing and maintaining relationships with relevant client representatives, supply chain, and local authorities. You will be working in a really good team, a team with a great technical understating of the utility industry, meaning you will be learning and developing your skill set in the long term.
REQUIREMENTS
You will need to have Project Management experience working on water infrastructure projects for a UK-based, self-delivering utility contractor. On top of this, I am looking for someone technically capable so a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred as well as having good stability throughout your CV.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
My client is one of the best utilities & Civil Engineering Contractors in the southeast, they have a low staff turnover and a great relationship with several key water clients such as Thames Water, Southern Water, Affinity Water, and South East Water, which means you will be offered long term stability. On top of this, you will be rewarded with a salary ranging between £60,000 – £70,000 + package on top. There is also the opportunity for progression into a Contracts Manager role.

Commercial Director,
Main Contractor
I have used Cityscape Recruitment multiple times over the last 5 years. Very pleasant to deal with and all candidates put forward for interview are well suited to the position and well vetted by the team, so there is no time wasted with unsuitable applicants. I would highly recommend Cityscape. I intend to use them again in the future should any vacancies become available.
Operations Director,
Platt and Reilly Ltd
The Cityscape Recruitment team has always been great to deal with. Always ready to listen to our needs and requirements, a quality some recruiters do not appreciate or have, then advising where they can assist in our staff procurement. We look forward to working with Laura and Cityscape in the coming years.
