ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a tier one main contractor who is currently operating with a turnover of £850M. They have offices all over the UK but their head office is based in Hertfordshire. They specialise in multi utilities such as water, power, electric and telecoms.

Due to the company’s growth and expansion there is now room for a Senior Commercial Manager to join their Commercial Team whilst working on Thames Water but also looking after a small team of quantity surveyors and senior quantity surveyors. The company offer a very professional and polished working environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Are you stuck in your current role and are looking for a new challenge as a Senior Commercial Manager? Maybe you feel like you have reached a glass ceiling at your current company and are ambitious and driven. This new role will offer you an opportunity to join a Tier One contractor in a senior role that will challenge you and offer you that chance that you have been looking for to drive your career. You will be responsible for managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. The projects that you will be involved in will include Repair and maintenance work and developer services work. All the work will involve high volume, low cost work so it’s vital you have experience working within this type of environment. You’ll be working underneath a director who’s got a great reputation within the water market. He’s very calm, very approachable and very knowledgeable regarding operational work and commercial work.

You will undertake general surveying of projects as required, which will include reviewing and pricing variations and preparing valuations for the respective Project Manager and Commercial Director.

This role can be based out of Slough, Dartford or Esher and includes hybrid working.

No freelancers will be considered.

REQUIREMENTS

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a commercial manager or a Senior Commercial Manager within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
