Bid Manger – Main Contractor

Build Main Contractors

Our client, a well-established contractor with a rich history of 100 years in business and current annual revenues of over £100m require a Bid Manger to join a newly formed pre construction team.

About the Company:

Our client is a well-established contractor with a rich history of over 100 years of business. With annual revenues of over £100m this company is working with public and private sector organizations ranging from specialist projects to large-scale framework agreements including Residential, Commercial, Education, Healthcare and Leisure. They also form part of a wider group with a turnover in excess of £300m. The business operates predominately in the London and the South East area and the company boasts an impressive portfolio of projects along with a loyal, friendly and professional working environment. Recent projects include a £20m development of apartments in Brighton and a new £6.5m state of the art training facility for a Premier League football club.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Bid Manager or Pre-Construction Leader to develop and manage bids for the contracts team on projects that will typically range up to £40m and will be based in London and the South East. The role will be housed in a newly formed team therefore a high level of autonomy and initiative will be required while remaining constant with the company’s core values. You will be using an approach that ensures.

  • Full understanding of customer needs
  • Estimation of a competitive yet robust project price
  • Pre-construction engagement of the supply chain
  • Exploration of innovative, project winning alternative solutions
  • Compilation of comprehensive project programmes
  • Exciting eye catching submission documents
  • Post submission negotiation from a position of strength
  • Clearly defined hand over to delivery teams.

About the Benefits and Rewards:

The main criterion is to find the correct person for the job. Salary will come second to this and will be set at the right level for the right person. As a guide the salary will be between £50,000 and £70,000 + Benefits, however this is very flexible depending upon the ability and experience of the candidate. The company aim to make the experience of working with them rewarding.

Requirements:

Suitable candidates will have a proven track record in the Residential, Commercial, retail and Leisure sectors. You will need to have a balanced portfolio of experience and will have Proven bid management skills gained with a medium/major building contractor, be able to represent the company at pre-construction meetings and be seen to add value to the bid management process.
